My Favorite Song
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.
The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.
When we've been here a thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
This song was played each night at our 'street church' to end the worship music and have prayer. It was so beautiful to see these poor, saddened individuals close their eyes and sing their hearts out knowing in their souls that they really wanted out of the lives they were living.
It was very sad for all of us to leave them knowing we were going back to warm, comfortable homes while they went out to a shelter or wander the streets in an effort to keep warm.
Pictures are of Gord, who can play the guitar AND sing (thank God) and Gord, Gary and friends singing inside our little church. The other pictures are us sharing the gospel with our friends. Can you tell we miss our friends and church??? Hopefully we will be getting another church running soon. Prayer, prayer and more prayer.
