An Excellent Book To Read...

I read this book a couple years ago and wrote a review of it at the time and I was just poking around my books and noticed it...I think I will take it to camp with me next week. This is the review I wrote.

Great! A Must read! Thought provoking!

I found this book, The Twenty Essential Qualities of an Authentic Christian, to be so well written and easy to understand that I feel this is a ‘must have’ for anyone looking to strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Mr.Weisbe wrote this book in such a way that the pages seem to come alive.

Mr. Weisbe, who has written over 100 books, has carefully outlined and examined the
steps necessary for us to follow in order to be a Child of God. One thing to be aware of for those wanting more technical information, he has notes at the back of the book for further in-depth study and reading.

I thought this part was delivered quite effectively, as Weirsbe takes you through the
stages of growth for a ‘new’ Christian with sub-topics such as motivation, focus, balance and so on. He is very good at relating the teachings of The Bible and how the Bible is the instruction book for all of us to follow, in order to be like Christ.

The last part, the Maturing Christian, I believe gives a person the confidence, maturity and faith to go out beyond our comfort zone, reaching out to others who need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ, our Savior. The book concludes so that we will be able to understand and rejoice in the peace that we can experience with God, our Creator.

This book was written in such a way, with the Bible quotes fitting seamlessly together with current illustrations that we may be experiencing, that you can feel the presence of God telling you that He has the answers for you. I certainly recommend this book, it is easy to read, it flows nicely and has timely information every Christian should search out.
